ADI is searching for a Tractor Driver to assist with the installation of sewer, water and storm drainage pipes.

The Tractor Driver must be safety and quality minded, maintain a high standard of excellence with all finished installations. This entry level position requires physical work in a standing position for extended periods of time and exposure to all weather conditions.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to operate farm type equipment including tractors and pickup trucks
  • Conscientious attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors
  • Ability to work full-time schedule with overtime including overnight travel for up to a week at a time
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Construction experience is an asset

Job Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for sustaining a preventive maintenance program that optimizes the longevity of the manufacturers warranty on all transportation equipment.  The Heavy Equipment Mechanic maintains and repairs transportation equipment including over the road trucks and trailers with a high standard of excellence.  The Heavy Equipment Mechanic must be safety and quality minded.

Responsibilities:

  • Strict adherence to safe work practices.
  • Keep tools, equipment and work area clean, organized, and in good working condition
  • Road test vehicles
  • Prompt, timely, effective communication to management regarding problems with transportation equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments on such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches; changes filters and oil, and lubricates vehicles and motor driven equipment.
  • Service, diagnose, repair and maintain speed tandem axles with air or electric shift, hydrostatic driven, heavy duty multi-axle suspensions, both conventional steel or air springs.
  • Repair and replace drive shaft, differential, axle, manual and automatic transmission, clutches, transfer cases, power take-off systems, steering axles and final drives.
  • Repair or replace fuses, batteries, lights, instruments, warning devices, controls and switches, computer controls, modules, alternators, starters, and defective cables and wiring
  • Replace mufflers, manifolds, catalytic converters, turbochargers, blowers and pipes.
  • Repair or replace heater cores, condensers, compressors, hoses and controls, recharge air conditioner systems.
  • Repair or replace pumps, hoses, valves, winches and cylinders, compressors, air dryers, brake valves, air tanks and hoses.
  • Repair and replace tires and wheels, tie rods, ball joints, gear boxes, shock absorbers, springs, steering linkage, kingpins, power steering, hoses, pumps, walking beam and air suspensions.
  • Adjust, repair, inspect, and replace fifth wheel hitches and pintle hitches
  • Maintain service logs and records of maintenance on vehicles and motorized equipment.
  • Prepare and complete work orders and other pertinent paperwork

Occasional Duties:
Locate parts and equipment needed for repairs or maintenance

Requirements/Qualifications:
Technical school degree or equivalent experience

  • Physical, mental, visual, and auditory ability to operate powered industrial equipment
  • Conscientious attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors
  • Ability to work full time schedule with overtime as needed
  • Welding experience preferred
